problem in driver software installation msp430 jtag

while installing msp430 fet uif for msp430f6338 ,driver cannot be installed..please help..

  • Do you have the driver? Do you have installation rights? Is your HD full?

Your absolutely generic request without any details is as useful as searching for ‘and’ in Google (25 billion results)

  • The key here is “Access denied”. You probably don’t have the rights to either read the driver software (no read access on the files, maybe blocked by an anti-virus software) or you simply don’t have the right to install new drivers from your current user account., In this case, log in as administrator, attach the device, let the drivers install, then log out and log in with your normal user account again. Once the drivers have been accepted once, Windows will load them without the need of administrator rights.

  • thank you sir for your help

can this because of not genuine windows ?

  • Taking it as a purely hypothetical question (everybody here uses a genuine Windows, of course), I’d say no. A not genuine Windows would have to block Microsoft’s verification server, which might result in a required certificate not being installed/updated/verified/whatever. But if so, it should result in a different error (telling you that the driver is not signed or its signature is invalid or so)

Access denied usually means that either you (with your current login) don’t have the rights to do an action, or the system doesn’t.
It might be that the system (or the currently active user) has no write access to the path the driver (or at least individual parts of it) want to be installed to.

This might also be caused by anti-virus software (blocking write access to critical system parts).
