MSP430F5338 and Field software upgrade on GPRS network (OTA).

TI.TXT file format consists of organizational data (like the memory address after the @) and rows of HEX values (two hex digits = 1 byte of binary data), including some checksum.
IIRC, each data line consists of a count value (number of data bytes in this line), the data and one byte of checksum.

1. I thought, the TI.TXT has only address (@), data and end of record (q). I did not see any CRC, looks like I am missing something.

For ex : @8000 35 a5 fe 88 q :

0x8000 is address,  "35 a5 fe 88" is data to be written at 0x8000 and q is end of record.

How 2 data bytes, for ex "35 a5" leads to one byte binary ?

2. Is  there any document about converting TI.TXT to flash image (binary) which can be written to flash ?

3. Is there any parser available in "C" to convert TI.TXT or Intel hex to binary image which can be written to flash ?

4. What is IIRC ? sorry, I may be asking very primitive stuff.

You’re right. TI txt only has the @xxxx and the Q, the rest are data bytes. I mixed this up with the inter IHEX format (which I usually use).

And you got me wrong. I meant that two hex digits (file data bytes) give one binary byte.

But it seems, this documentation is incomplete, as I have found a here undocumented 03 record (byte count 4) in an IHex file
