CC1101DK433 examples

Hi,

I have the CC1101DK433 with two EB and two EM.

I found some examples (C51 for smartrf04) from the TI web site but I'm not able to try them.

I read the " example and libraries" pdf but in my SmartRF04 Studio I can't find the button Load USB firmware to download the .hex file. Why?

Althought, how can I do? Have I to use other software as IAR embedded workbench for 8051?

Thanks,

Riccardo

  • Hi Riccardo,

I'm moving this to the Low Power RF Tools Forum because it looks like your question is about the CC1101DK433 and SmartRF Studio rather than MSP430. Hopefully you will be able to get better help there.

    Regards,

    Katie

  • Hi Riccardo,

SmartRF Studio can be used to evaluate the RF Device without any programming of the target device. You can do some simple link tests and set up the target to send/receive a continious wave signal.

If you want to test some of the SW examples you have to program the SmartRF04EB board. This can be done with the SmartRF Flash Programmer: http://www.ti.com/tool/flash-programmer

For SmartRF04EB you should select version 1.12.7. (Not "flash programmer v2").

For each example you will see that there are two files. One with and one without the "bootloader" suffix. I recommend to use the hex image with the "bootloader" suffix. This ensure that the bootloader on SmartRF04EB is not overwritten. If you need to reprogram the bootloader you need an additional adapter to connect to the debug interface of the SmartRF04EB board.

Select "Program Evaluation Board" and select the required hex file. See user guide of the flash programmer for more details.

    Regards,
    Øyvind
