EnergyTrace++ doesn't work

Hello, I have problem with EnergyTrace++ and MSP430FR5969 MCU. It is not working either with CCSv6 and IAR Embedded Workbench (on IAR I have greyed out menu options for state log). Only EnergyTrace works as supposed. Every time when I download code with CCSv6, program switch to EnergyTrace mode and if I set to EnergyTrace++ manualy it doesn’t show any numbers. Ultra low power debugging is enabled. Tried on development board and new MSP430-FET Flash Emulation Tool with same result.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

  • Maybe you are missing CCS plugins for emergia+++?

  • Any updates on this? I have the same issue... using MSP430FR5969 Rev1.0 and CCS 6.01.
    TraceEngery is working fine but TraceEngery++ does not work. The States graph has no traces at all.
    If someone has a solution for this, please let me know.
    Thanks.
  • Hi Cuong Dao,

    I'm unsure what  you mean by MSP430FR5969 Rev1.0. I just tested EnergyTrace++ on MSP-EXP430FR5969 Rev. 2.0 Launchpad (Rev 2.0 I believe is the only release version of this Launchpad?), and this has a Rev. F MSP430FR5969 device on the board. What board are you using and what revision of MSP430FR5969?

    Using CCSv6.1, I went to Window > Preferences > Code Composer Studio > Advanced Tools > EnergyTrace Technology. I checked Enable Auto-launch on target connect, and set the radio button to EnergyTrace+[CPU State]+[Peripheral States]. Then I clicked Apply and OK. Now when I debug and run, the energy trace runs for 10 seconds (default setting) and then displays information and traces. Does this not work for you?

    Regards,

    Katie
