Hello Everyone,
am using the MSP430G2 Launchpad and as a beginner am trying to let the launchpad get its power from abattery instead of the USB but I really need ur help to do this I do not know where to begin.

Not just the VCC jumper, but any jumper. (unless you have USB disconnected)
Any signal from the FET part will have 3.6V and go into the MSP I/O pins.
So when you use external power, either make it match the voltage of the FET part (2.6V IIRC) by +0 to -0.2V, or you can’t use any of the FET functionality and have to pull all jumpers. (which means: no upload, no application UART, no debugging)
Everything else may damage your MSP, depending on situation.
