MSP430F2252, DCO calibration data question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F2252

Hello,

We have problem with DCO calibration data in MSP430F2252 device.

Datasheet for MSP430F2252 contains information about DCO calibration data

- data at address range 10F8h-10FFh. We performed reading from virgin (received from TI) device, device contains some data at address range 10F6-10FFh.

What data are on addresses 10F6h,10F7h?

Are these data necessary for the DCO?

Can we delete them?

BR,

Frantisek

They are the TLV definition bytes for the DCO, see User’s Guide chapter 24.1.

    Wouldn’t do that.

  • I don't think so, because from virgin device (got directly from TI) we read:

    00000010F0   FF FF FF FF FF FF C3 8A 91 8F 9A 8E 8E 8D C8 86

91 8F, 9A 8E, 8E 8D and C7 75 can be DCO bytes, but C3 8A doesn't seem to be TLV. Values are too high to "define" length of DCO bytes (8 bytes).

On the other end First sentence from User's Guide chapter 24.1 says "The TLV structure is used in selectedMSP430x2xx devices ..... For the device-dependent implementation, see the device specific data sheet".

In the datasheet for our device (SLAS504G, revised in Aug 2012) is not mention about TVL definition bytes for DCO. In this datasheet only absolute addresses for DCO Calibration Data are used.
