  • Cool! I only got one single biro here, nothing else :\

  • Thanks Jens-Michael for everything you've done to the community! Unfortunately I didn't went ahead with MSP430 so I haven't had the pleasure to have your assistance.
Congratulations for the achievement you've made in this forum, truly not an easy task but the MSP community would have not been the same without your effort, I am sure of it!
  •  HI JMG, thank a lot for all good talking about MSP technology and other we shared over time.

My best think and wishes for you and family in this and all other days you continue share from long past to all us.

  •  Hi Jan, just curious about, what about shark near my friend? And what mean kneife? I was initially thinking knife.

My real appreciation to your art with paper and pencil is coming away from our desk and also thank to Blake for a very fancy idea getting back to life.

  • The shark is for fun. The balloon says Kneipe. That's German for 'pub'.
  • Thanks for everything JMG! So great to honor you today and see the community here so supportive with so many great notes of thanks, projects and coloring pages... speaking of which... here is mine :)

Arhgh first thing was thinking was in German sound as knife.. Good idea, maybe we can meet all them there?

    http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kneipe

    ist betrunken auch Hai? :D

I need learn more in deep German so maybe some visit can be a good Idea to meet Jens than expecting there.

  • Hi Jens-Michael Gross

I wanted to personally thank you for all your efforts and for being such a great role-model for fellow MVPs.

We were trying to think of the best way to send our thanks, and we hope that the 6 LaunchPad projects from 6 different MVPs has struck the right note.

Even though many of us have little to do the MSP430, we were so inspired by your efforts that we needed to show our gratitude by getting as many of the other LaunchPads involved.

    Much respect,

    Glenn.

  • "ist betrunken auch Hai?"

    ...what does that mean? :-)

    This one looks funny:

  • JMG, keep inspiring! Thank you!

  • Blake, thats an amazing colouring with photoshopping :)
Can we also have the english version please?
  •  wish I had some nice coloring kit like  but alas have nothing but Photoshop :)

Here are the phrases roughly translated. I liked the German saying as it really applies to Community participation and as well individual growth and activity.

  • Thank you Jens-Michael Gross. When I was a new employee at TI, I gained a lot from reading through your post forum posts help me to learn. As I develped more skills and needed to solve new problems, your participation on my forum posts have been most helpful. You have a skill for sharing knowledge and your passion shows. Your participation in the community is an inspiration to me.

I think next year JMG day should be on April 30..... 4/30

Uhmmm.. its so worst my German? I think yes, is not a simple language and strict grammar rule alter phrase meaning also if all rule applied.

Yessss, we can just prepare a meeting date to get in touch so I can improve my klingon.. ehm German language.

  • Roberto, maybe you mixed up this:

betrunken (german) = high (english) = Hai (german) = shark (english)

But "betrunken" is not "high" :-) Smoking the green stuff makes you high, drinking too much alcohol makes you "betrunken".
  • Nein!! Keine Englischen!

Ok I learnt again my German is still too little and is better read and listen than write or speak for now. Promise I read again all grammar book before retry.

Phrase was intended on action to subject so Hai is shark and betrunken yes is drunk referred to Shark near JMG in picture, auch is not <<also>> in that position? If shark was for fun why not serve some good beer to our friend shark.. Shark is (was?) a processor too popular on audio applications..

  • Now I am even using the picture as an avatar :)
  • I'm sure will be very happy about this honor :-)
  • Guys (and Maria), you are crazy!
    That's an awesome surprise.

I almost missed this thread, as it is sticky on the first forum thread page and I'm still on page 25 of unread threads.

Jason, thanks for your kind words. In times where protecting their IP is a key feature for every company, knowledge starts to get lost when knowledgeable people grow old.
Sharing knowledge and passing it to others is the only way to continue technical evolution, or else we will soon at the point (and partly already are) where newcomers can't learn the basics and therefore can't improve existing knowledge - until they cannot even reproduce it. Then we will suddenly fall back by decades. It already happens here and there.

April 30th already is MSP430 day. Unfortunately, there is no April 32th, so no MSP432 day for the new processor family.

Roberto: if you wanted to ask "is the shark drunk too?" then the correct order of words in the German phrase would be "ist der Hai auch betrunken?"
To answer the question: based on the movement pattern indicated by the tiny wavelets, it seems the shark is weaving adn not able to swim right away. So he's likely drunk.

    "I'm drunk" - "I'm drunk too" - "and I'm drunk three" :)

Dennis: thanks for the water propeller on the boat. Not only because I'm lazy, but also because nobody did give me at least a paddle on the other pictures. Well, this explains the question for the 'also' drunk shark: how else (if not drunk) could I end up in a boat on a lake without a paddle? :)

Hi JMG, I am happy read this, it is warming up as we meet few year ago when I come here and I learned a lot of thing and we shared many point of view about MSP I was not aware of like overlap and some coding error on examples foolished me for a long time DCO property I learned from our discussions, correcting code speeded up DCO tuning time.

Forever I see you are reading all is burdening these fora, you are probably tired of this huge work and new grayed appearance of forum layout is not helping me and I suppose same can be for you, yes we get old and time to new generation is coming but knowledge we try to share is difficult not so many of them wish learn than have job solved and we cannot waste our time doing our primary work for free.

I am happy remain here and share knowledge with all friend we are here. And yes JMG we are all crazy but please reenable laugh you disabled some thread ago ;)

Yes JMG, I got my grammar book and read again about interrogative form, I was learning conversation in 2013 but worst life things stopped me from completing task and now I am losting what I learnt but again all is not lost so time from time maybe we can resume. All is not so good this time for me and I appreciate all your effort and friendly of the past and I hope for future too. Maybe we can address this in a more better way in private.

Happy drinking to all, care about Klingons, interrupt latency of JMG seems high due to (drunked) burdened cpu ;)

  • "Life is what happens when you plan other things"
My life too has significantly changed in 2013, and is still changing. Following this, my distribution of time has shifted too and I stopped doing things I did before and started doing things I wanted to do but never did or stopped doing before.

In addition, I'm no longer allowed to write to the forum from my office, and I don't have the time to cover this in my spare time. But I'm still there, and try to read every post. And when someone didn't get an answer when I finally read his (then somewhat decayed) post, I'll still try to help him out. But there are some new ones around do a good job with 'first aid' so there aren't so many unanswered questions anymore.

In my case time got disordered and unavailable, I came here when I find some spot, this was a long time I was on no good healty condition but ordinary holiday from forum is approaching with work and as you said life events.

I hope we can cross on this forum and why not sometime get in touch too taste a real beer at pub.

     My best wishes.
