Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430FR5739, ENERGYTRACE

Hi

I'm Juan Pedro

I working with msp430fr5739 & cc300o over Iar 6.20, and the fist debugger mensage is :

Wed Apr 22, 2015 17:59:28: No state storage buffer implemented on connected device : (EnableEnergyTrace)

Why? if I do not want to save the record. Is it  necesary a buffer?

  • Hi Juan,

I think I answered your question here: e2e.ti.com/.../1470366
The FR5739 device doesn't support EnergyTrace++ only EnergyTrace (no state storage). You may have your project settings in CCS still set for EnergyTrace++ perhaps?

You should be able to save your EnergyTrace record, but it will only be a record of the measured power and energy, not the peripheral/CPU state of the device. The message you are posting is talking about state storage for the peripheral/CPU state of the device - that is only possible on the MSP430FR59xx/69xx family, not FR5739, because it requires that there be some state storage feature to be implemented in the silicon of the device (which it is not on FR5739). Please read through all of the links and resources I provided in my first post I linked above.

    Regards,
    Katie
