Debug error: MSP430: GEL: Encountered a problem loading file: [filepath].out Could not open file

I am writing an assembly project for the MSP 430 in CCS and if I uncomment a line of code that has a #VALUE which is defined earlier as VALUE .equ BASEVALUE*3 then I get the error in the title. If I comment that line out the code runs fine. What's going on?

Just kidding...due to the seeming intentionally misleading message above I got sidetracked while trying to fix this. The solution is that my .equ statements at the beginning of my code were out of order. Who woulda thunk with that error message que tiene nada que ver?
