Sensor Hub Boosterpack and the MSP432

A friend and I are currently working on a project.  We are interested in using accelerometer/gyrometer/magnetometer data to control LEDs and other hardware functions.

We have the Sensor Hub Boosterpack, which by default works with all Tiva Launchpads.  However, we are using the MSP432 Launchpad.

The board will physically connect to the MSP432, but we are unable to get data from it.

The Sensor Hub Dev Guide claims functionality with MSP430 devices, has anyone ever gotten this Boosterpack to work with these devices?  Should it alos work on the MSP432?

  • Yes, from the pinout, the MSP432 can work with the Sensor Hub Booster Pack, although the new MSP432 LaunchPad does not match the "standard" Booster Pack pin configuration. But if you have a look at this document you will see that P6.4 and P6.5 on J1 can be configured to be the I²C lines that communicate with the sensors on the Sensor Hub Booster Pack. The others are mostly GPIOs.

  • It is a shame that TI can't follow their own standards. In any case, if you could share how you can configure those pins that will be greatly appreciated.

Another quick question. In order to communicate with the sensors (without using the RF module), the sensor I2C pins are J2.6 and J2.7 on the boosterpack module which map P1.6 and P1.7 on the msp432. So if the RF module will not be used what modifications need to be made.

    Thanks

    Aly
