Hi,

I am programming MSP430g2211, using MSP-EX430G2 launchpad and Fet-pro430. I tried to connect with spy bi wire and jtag. I could program microcontroller but I tried to blow security fuse I had an error.

Oguz,

For blowing the security fuse, the voltage at the TEST pin has to be 6 to 7V. The LaunchPad cannot produce this voltage, since it is powered by a linear voltage regulator (about 3.6V out of the USB's 5V). You will have to use a real programming tool like the MSP-FET for blowing it. It has a step up converter in it that can boost the 5V from the USB to higher voltages.

Dennis,
Thank your interest. You are right. I will get a MSP-FET but i want to ask another question. can I blow security fuse when connect to 2 wire jtag?

SBW is 2-wire JTAG.

You can either use the SBW (2-wire JTAG):

Or the 4-wire JTAG plus RST and TEST in your case because you're using a device that can do both, normal JTAG and SBW, so RST is needed. And the JTAG pins are shared, therefore you also need TEST:

Hi Dennis,

I bought a MSP-FET and connected with SBW but it did not work CCS and Fet pro430 as well. How can I fix it.

Did you connect everything according to the schematic above? I do not even know where you can blow the fuse in CCS...never searched for that function.

Yes I connected According to the schematic. I did not try blow fuse. I tried only progrramming but it did not work.

Yes I got an error message like;

When I try to program, MSP-FET430UIF starts firmware update.

And I have just seen there is a MSP430FXXX on circuit which you sent me, but I am working with MSP430G2211.
