How to reslove " Program not fit into available memory "

I am getting this error and I am not able to fix it

Any inputs are most welcome.

  • It looks like you have generated more code then there is room for it. Normally, you could either trim down your code or provide more room. But you are working with BSL code, be very careful if you try to provide more room.

    When you are using the so-called BSL-Flash (i.e., Flash at 0x1000-0x17FF), you need to be very careful. A false move may "brick" your chip or cause a lot of trouble. Thus do not change the memory allocation in the 0x1000-0x17FF casually.

    What do you use "ZAREA_CODE" for? You may not need that section.
  • My code gets fit in 0x0380 bytes of memory , so no problem on the code size.

    When i did the following change

    i was able to compile the code successfully but when i tried to flash it the debugger throws me an error:
    " Data verification failed at address Please verify target memory and memory map. "

    just for more information Read and Write to BSL is checked in CCS.


    one more clarification: BSL is my own code and i am just trying to put in a BSL area of msp430f5438a. to do that i am using the linker file and .asm file of the TI's BSL. And i believe its a right way.
