Msp430f2416 downloading error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-TS430PM64, MSP430F2416

Hello sir

We  download msp-ts430pm64 microcontroller schmatic from online. This schmatic is modified from our own design. We brought msp430fet-uif downloader from online.  We cannot able to flash the coding.

  • That is quite understandable.
When I buy a simple home appliance, it sometime does not work for a wide range of different reasons. Even if I do not try to modify it. Even if I tried to understand the instructions that come with it.
  • >We cannot able to flash the coding.
    This is statement. Where's question?

As you do not provide any other piece of useful information besides "it does not work", we can only guess about what's wrong. Did you power it on? Did you connect it properly? Did you use proper settings of software which you don't even care to disclose? What kind of error message you see when try to flash the coding?
  • When ever i download my program to MSP430F2416 designed board. I am getting this error (your target device is not matching). Herewith i attach my design files(schmatic) and MSP-TS430PM64 target board schmatic. Kindly review this two schematic and tell your commands.

  • (1) You do not have a GND pin at your CN2 connector. Also the 3.3V is at the wrong pin there for standard JTAG connection.

    (2) You need a pull-up resistor and a pull-down capacitor at the TRST signal.
  • I take the common ground in JP2.
  • The msp430fet-uif Gnd goes to pin 9 of your CN2 which you connected to your 3.3V. This will not work but would not damage anything because there is no common ground between msp430fet-uif and your board.

Now you add common ground. What happen now?

Your 3.3V should have been connected to either pin2 or pin4 of CN2. Your Gnd (not your 3.3V) should have been connected to pin9.
  • Thank you for your help. This is very helpful for us. I connected pull up Resistor in 11 pin and capacitor ground in 9 pin this working correctly. Now i am struggling , i download program to microcontroller through CCS compiler the error came as per the attached documents. The first photograph is mention the properties settings. After i am downloading my code to microcontroller i am getting some error as per the second photo graph. I ignore this issue then full code flash the microcontroller. Previous error is come we cannot connect 3.3V power supply. If I connect 3.3V supply i got three errors, first two error previously i told, Third error is mention on the third photo graph as per the documents. Herewith i attached microcontroller error documents.

    Thanks
