TI MSP430 USB1_0/MSP430 Error initializing emulator: No USB FET was found

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5419, MSP-FET, ENERGYTRACE

I'm attempting to use a new (smaller, black box) USB FET with my existing CCS 5.5.0.00077 installation. My old USB FET disappeared from the lab, but the old USB FET was working previously.

The new FET seems to function. It shows up in the Windows Device Manager as two serial ports, MSP Debug Interface (COM6) and MSP Application UART1 (COM7). The green LED is on solid from the time I connect to USB.

The result is the same whether the FET is connected to the target, MSP430F5419, via standard JTAG or not.

I've reviewed the project debug configuration I'm trying to run and don't see anything amiss (or different than the last time it worked with the old FET). I don't see any means to select a different FET device, etc. Disconnecting the FET results in identical debug-time behavior so I believe the tools don't recognize/find/identify the FET but what to do about it?!
