TX at 1Mb/s. Can anyone point to good examples. Maybe setting the UART in SPI mode, and trigger DMA to TX data.

Any example code that does a similar function would be great.

Or any suggestion for a better implementation.

SPI and UART are completely different things. As far as I remember there aren't examples for using the DMA in the code examples you can download on the product website. At least I have not seen any so far. Which processor are you using? In general, the DMA can source the UART, of course.

No, the DMA is the best you can do when streaming large amounts of data with high speed.

Of course they are different. Maybe the name on it is USCI that can be configured as either SPI or UART. No need for spelling correction comments. I am asking for a code example. The DMA does support the serial TX. Anyone have done this, or seen sample code?

Thanks for reply. This would have been perfect, but the driverlib can unfortunately not run on the MSP430G2553. Any solutions for that chip?

Pretty much any triggereded byte by byte DMA example would be fine. Surprised to not find any DMA examples at all.

You do not find any DMA examples because the MSP430G2553 does not have a DMA controller.

MSP430G2xx running on 16 MHz can transmit by UART on 4 Mbps.
