Cannot install XDS110 driver

Hi,

I plug the MSP-EXP432P401R board into my PC running window 7, and the device manager shows that the XDS110 driver hasn't been installed.

I have updated my CCS to version 6.1.2. Also I have tried to reinstall the "ti_emupack_setup_6.0.83.1_win_32.exe", but the result remains the same.

Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

  • Hi,

Using the ti_emupack_setup_6.0.83.1_win_32.exe isn't the expected way to get the update you require. You should be able to get the update through CCS by going to Help>Check for Updates.

You could use the standalone installer to get the job done, however, the installer actually chooses the wrong folder to place the new update. If you go to your "C:\TI" folder, you'll see a newly added folder called "ccs_base" that contains the files you just installed. Please delete this folder and reinstall the emupack using the directory "C:\TI\ccsv6". This should install the files correctly!

For future reference, attempt to install all updates through CCS as it will handle these directory placements for you.

  • Hi, Michael

Thank you for your answer. I do have tried to update the CCS by Help->Check for Updates, however, it said "No updates were found". I think my CCS has been updated to the newest version. Then, I decided to use the  ti_emupack_setup_6.0.83.1_win_32.exe. Also, I have noticed what you said about the installation folder. What I chose actually is "C:\TI\ccsv6", but there were many errors like the follow picture. I just  ignored them.

I still haven't figured out the problem.

  • That isn't always indicative that your CCS has been updated to the newest version for all devices. When in CCS, go to Help>Install New Software... There you will be able to click on a small blue link labeled "Available Software Sites." Please make sure that TI MSP430 Device Support, as well as any other devices that you may be using in the future, are selected here, or you will not be able to see them as available updates under the Help>Check for Updates option.

  • Has your issue been resolved with the most recent suggestion? Let me know!

  • I did what you said, but still couldn't success. I have given up XDS110, and begin to use XDS100v3. XDS100V3 works fine.
