Hello dear e2e-community,

I am currently playing around with a MSP430 Launchpad (MSP-EXP430G2 rev 1.5 with MSP430G2553 chip).

I know TI-RTOS from the C2000 family, and I was wondering: will it run on this launchpad as well? And will it fit in the 16 KB free license memory for CCS, with some little tasks and the FAT-System for SD card?

Is there any example code for TI RTOS on the MSP430?

I haven't tried it, but I suspect the G2553 doesn't have enough RAM to hold any significant TI-RTOS-based code.

But is there anyone who has tried it? As far as I saw it in the documentation, there is no document which says TIRTOS would not work on msp430.

Section 1.3 (Page 6) discusses how to get some of the example projects that we have in the resource explorer.

You may find this link to be useful for determining what MSP430 devices can be supported: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Category:SYSBIOS

The MSP430G2 series is not on the list, and there is this comment below the table: "For MSP430 the recommended device memory configuration for SYS/BIOS is: 8KB or more of RAM, and 32KB or more of FLASH. With tuning of configuration settings, small applications can be deployed on the smaller memory devices (4KB RAM and 32KB FLASH) included in the list above."
