Hi

My customer use MSP430i2040.

They want to know MSP430i2040 of current during reset. (min/typ/max)

They are in the power of design, we want to know the amount of current required.

Regards,

Da

  • Hi ,

This information in not usually provided on the datasheet. However, using the EVM I was able to ground the RST pin to cause a POR and measured a current of 0.4mA.
Your customer can confirm this by doing the same thing with their board.

  • Da,

Please also keep in mind that the current consumption via Reset can vary wildly, depending on board layout. This is due to the fact that pins loose their states during reset and enter a floating state. This can cause increased current consumption during the time pins are floating.
