To establish a TCP connection between MSP432 and a PC

Hi All,

I am new to MSP432 microcontrollers. In a project , I wish to establish a TCP connection between MSP432 and a PC, for sending real time data. So my query is, will this be possible by interfacing a GPRS enabled GSM module (SIM808) to the MSP432 and the PC?? If yes, then please give detailed data or example and if No, then please suggest any alternative.

Note: The communication has to be wireless with global range, hence WIFI modules or Ethernet Modules will not work for me.

Hi Amit!

Could you give some more information about the project you are planning? You want real time data over GSM? What does real time mean for you? And where is the PC connected to? What device generates the data and where shall it be sent to?

Thanks Dennis for replying, the project I am working on in which MSP432 will collect health parameter like heart pulse and body temperature using sensors and transmit the data through GPRS enabled GSM module(Sim 808) to a remote PC by establishing a TCP connection. The PC might be connected to a broadband or another GSM module for internet.

Sure it's possible. You just need to write all the code to interface the MSP432 and GPRS module, and either find or develop a TCP/IP stack, and then implement the application layer software.

That's a lot of work. I would doubt if there are any "give it to you" examples pre-existing.
