MSP430FR2633 package information in the data sheet is incorrect?

Hi,

I have Checked the MSP430FR2633 data sheet.
It had become a TSOP-38-pin package. (See p95)
MSP430FR2633 should be no package of TSSOP-38pin.

Regards,
Da

  • Hi Da!

The MSP430FR2633 is available in a TSSOP32 or VQFN32 package:

You're right, the datasheet shows the land pattern of a TSSOP38 device. You can submit document feedback at the bottom of the page.

  • Hi Da and Dennis,

Thank you for pointing this out. I can also help make sure the datasheet gets corrected.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Da and Dennis,

After looking into this just a little bit more, I noticed that there is actually the correct information shown in the datasheet.  The packaging page in the datasheet has the information for the 30, 32, and 38 pin variants.  This has the information you need for the 32 pin variant on the MSP430FR2633.

  • Hi Mike!

I think you refer to this table:

So yes, you are right. But the datasheet does not cover any part in a TSSOP package not having 32 pins, so somehow it is a bit confusing. Anyway, the information is given, so at least not wrong. The page in the datasheet says "38 Pin Shown" for the DA package. Easier to have one page you can use for multiple datasheets.

  • Dennis,

You are correct that this is a product of trying to only keep one datasheet page for multiple packages. When the device specific datasheets are built, it pulls in the appropriate packaging page, which in this case covers one package that is used by the part and two that are not.

I agree that this is confusing, and I have passed this feedback to the teams in charge of the datasheets.
