MSP430G2230 with external reference?

Hello,
can the MSP430G2230 be used with an external reference? It is described in the datasheet page 29 ("10-Bit ADC, External Reference (MSP430G2230 Only)(1)") but I think the pins are missing. I think VCC can be used as external ref. Right?

If the internal ref is used, what happend if
- ADC input voltage > VCC?
 eg. ADC ch = 3.0V, Vref=2.5V, what this damage the ICß

    This seems to be a mistake in the MSP430G22x0 datasheet as there is indeed no VEREF+ pin on the MSP430G2230, I will ask the documentation team for confirmation. Otherwise the ADC input voltage can exceed the internal voltage reference of 2.5 V without damaging the IC (readings will clip at 1023) so long as the voltage in question does not exceed the power supply voltage at DVCC.

    P1.4/TA0.2/SMCLK/A4/VREF+/VEREF+

    According to this question, ADC reference supports both internal and external controlled by SREFx bits.

    SREFx Bits 15-13 Select reference.
    000 VR+ = VCC and VR- = VSS
    001 VR+ = VREF+ and VR- = VSS
    010 VR+ = VeREF+ and VR- = VSS. Devices with VeREF+ only.
    011 VR+ = Buffered VeREF+ and VR- = VSS. Devices with VeREF+ pin only.
    100 VR+ = VCC and VR- = VREF-/ VeREF-. Devices with VeREF- pin only.
    101 VR+ = VREF+ and VR- = VREF-/ VeREF-. Devices with VeREF+/- pins only.
    110 VR+ = VeREF+ and VR- = VREF-/ VeREF-. Devices with VeREF+/- pins only.
    111 VR+ = Buffered VeREF+ and VR- = VREF-/ VeREF-. Devices with VeREF+/- pins only.

    it is not completely clear, P1.3 and P1.4 are not available on MSP430G2230.

    It has now been confirmed that the F2230/2210 does not support external ADC inputs, the ADC external info will be removed from the datasheet. Thank you for finding and reporting this documentation error.
