MSP430FR5739: Microcontroller temperatures

Part Number: MSP430FR5739

Microcontroller series general temperature question.

Scenario:  storage temperature at -65C, unit warms up to -40C operational spec temp range.

What happens or doesn't happen if the microcontroller is powered up as the unit is warming up towards operating temperature limit?

What is the possible penalty of power-up before rated operating temperature is attained?

Thank you.

  • Data retention on FRAM cannot be ensured when exceeding the specified maximum storage temperature, Tstg, of -55C. No device specifications are provided for < -40C so any range of unexpected behavior, from slower start-up times to higher current draw, can occur during this time. TI cannot guarantee that the device will start up or operate reliably when operating outside of the recommended operating conditions.
