I'm Using MSP430FR5739 Experimenter's Board in teaching Embedded Systems Engineering at Sri Lanka Institute of Inforamation Technology. I want to design a lab class to illustrate the use of eUSCI in communication with the hyper terminal of windows. Can someone guide me to a application note or a sample project work .. ?. You'r help is highly appreciated. Thank you

Hi Thilesh!

There are code examples you can download on the product website for the controller. When speaking about hyper terminal, I guess you want to use the UART of the USCI module. There are two examples that also cover the UART:

MSP430FR57xx_uscia0_uart_03.c USCI_A0, Ultra-Low Pwr UART 9600 Echo ISR, 32kHz ACLK
MSP430FR57xx_uscia0_uart_04.c USCI_A0, 9600 UART external loopback

They are a good point to start from in order to get an idea of the working principle.

Hi Every One

I'm using MSP430FR5739 Experimenter's board. I want to communicate with the board using PUTTY terminal. Connection of the board and the PC will be made using USB that we already use to program and debug the code in CCS. Can someone please tell me is it possible. Thank you

Yes, you can do this! The EVM also offers a virtual COM port in the device manager.

Hi Dennis

I'm trying to get something at PUTTY terminal. I configured the PUTTY according to the COM port and and baud rate is set to 9600. I used the code given in the example "MSP430FR57xx_uscia0_uart_03.c". I didn't make any changes to the jumpers in the board. I can not type anything in the PUTTY terminal and no echo. Can you Please help me to sort-out this thing and thank you again so much for you'r guidance
