Compiler/MSP430F6459: Porting of program from MSP432 to MSP430F6459

Hi,

I wish to know is it possible to port MSP432 based program to MSP430 mcu such as MSP430F6459. I have developed my required application program based on MSP432 using CCS, but due to need of MCU for high temperature range, I need to get the same program on MSP430F6459 Hi-Rel MCU. Also I would like to mention that I have used various of the TI Peripheral API of MSP432 in my Program. Hence is it possible to port the program?

As most answers to questions like this:
It depends. We can't tell what resources/peripherals you are using.

Your best bet is to sit down with the datasheets for each processor, go through each peripheral/driverlib call/port and make sure that there is an equivalent on the MSP430.

Even still, you might run into RAM,Flash or performance issues.

ETA:

For example, the MSP430 only has a 12 bit ADC and no FPU or AES module.

Amit,

Since the 432 is a newer generation of processors - we have a porting guide that helps the transition from MSP430 to MSP432.
Perhaps you can find some insights there as well. www.ti.com/.../slaa656c.pdf

You got it backwards. He was "downgrading" from the 432 to the 430.

Yeah I got that...I felt like the migration guide which basically shows the differences between the platforms would still have useful information regardless of the direction of the port.
