Part Number: MSP-EXP430G2
Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
Hello everyone,
I have a problem flashing a MSP430G2553 MCU using my MSP-EXP430G2 Launchpad. The software I am using is Code Composer Studio 7 running on Windows 10 x64. I have been using this software completely without any problems in the past. However from time to time I started getting an error message lately saying "Error initializing emulator: No USB FET was found" during debugging, until the point that I get the error mesage every time I try to debug or flash the MCU. I also noticed, that since the time it shows the message every time, Windows connects to the device as MSP USB UIF Flasher but after let's say a minute, it disconnects and reconnects as an unknown device.
I have searched throughout the internet and this forum in particular and it seems that nothing helps. I tried to reinstall CCS several times, tried to reinstall the drivers for the launchpad but nothing helps. The MCU seems to be working normally because the previous code is still running in the MCU without any problem, when VCC is applied to the board. The USB cable should be okay too, as I am using the same cable without any problems with my camera. Is it possible that I fried the JTAG or anything on the emulator part of the board? Is the fault somewhat checkable? Like, can I detect any faults using a generic voltmeter? For this case I will also check the board schematic.
Thanks for any help.
Best regards,
Jan Hentschel.
