MSP430FR2633: Increase the sensitivity of Capacitive Touch for 4mm Glass panel

Hello Everyone,

I am working on MSP430FR2633 Capacitive touch Micro controller.

I have developed application for capacitive touch buttons,Slider with our own designed board and it is working fine.

Issue:

When we put thin Acrylic panel on the Capacitive touch buttons and slider its working fine but when thickness increases the sensitivity decreases.

Now we are planning to put a 4mm Glass panel on the capacitive touch buttons and slider.how to make it work?

Any suggestions?

Hi Sanath,
Our CapTIvate device can support up to 60mm glass overlay.
It is normal that you increase the thickness and the sensitivity will decrease. But we will work with a 4mm glass panel just fine.
We have a GUI to adjust the CapTIvate performance. www.ti.com/.../MSPCAPTDSNCTR

One more thing, the PCB layout also has a great influence on the touching performance. You can also find detail information through the above link.
