Linux/MSP432P401R: linux support package

Part Number: MSP432P401R

Tool/software: Linux

there used to be a linux support package for the msp432.

In a revised copy of the GCC ARM Embedded Toolchain for SimpleLink MSP432Microcontrollers document SLAU688B - March 2017 it talks about the MSP432 Software GCC Support Stand-Alone Packages and mentions the following:

msp432-gcc-x.x.x.x-linux-x64-support-package-installer.run

msp432-gcc-support-files.zip

I used to be able to find these files but no longer.

What is the current status of this?

  • Hello,
This package will no longer be supported and we are requesting that users migrate to the SDK. You can find the latest here:

    software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html

    thanks for that link.

there used to be similar links from the CCS pages or from the MSP432 Development tools pages.  But there is nothing there now.

Finding the GCC support files (that the above link points at) is difficult.  ie. I did a number of different searches and never found it.

Given your link, I crafted a search "ti msp432 linux support package" that did find it.   "ti msp432-gcc" also finds it.

SLAU688B, GCC ARM Embedded Toolchain for SimpleLink MSP432 Microcontrollers, March 2017, mentions the packages but points you at the TI SimpleLink MSP432 MCU website where there is nothing to be found concerning the GCC support packages.

Could you please have this fixed?
