I am driving L293 Ic from Microcontroller.

while programming in Jtag i mean when my board is power on while flashing the code all the port pin connected to motor driver is high and makes the motor to rotate until i reset the board tell me how to stop that

Hi senthil,

You can disconnect power from the L293 while programming the MCU, or add code that does not start the motor until a user-initiated event occurs. However, once the MSP is powered it will operate as intended until the SBW/JTAG interface takes hold of the RST line to begin programming.

i cant control that using software since the portpin is connected so when the respective pins are active the motor runs .

The only option i think from ur answer is power off the motor supply.

Any other options to control on hardware side

Hey Senthil,

Disconnect power to the motor outputs or enable lines during programming. Other software options include adding a lengthy delay on startup or controlling the enable lines with the MSP430.
