CCS/MSP430F6459: Using INCLK (TAINCLK)

Hi,

We want to measure the frequency of an external coming signal. So is it possible to give external signal to INCLK pin and TAxCLK pin? If its possible, we want to know if the frequency can be measured without using interrupt method. Kindly provide us an insight about this as soon as possible.

Yes, it is possible. Here is example with interrupts, but you can modify it to work without interrupts.

I'm not sure what you mean. If you're asking if you can decrease the sampling period to under once per second, that should be possible. However, you'll need to scale the result read from TA1R accordingly. For a sampling period of 1 second, the number of pulses is inherently in units of Hz (cycles per 1 second), so as zrno soli mentions in the link above, no conversion of the result is necessary.
