CCS/MSP430FR6047: unable to access CIO console window for printf logging

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Using printf() in main, I would like to log some data. For now, I have "Hello World!". I have increased the heap size, and also clicked "enable CIO" in debug settings. CIO console window is not an option. I wish it was. Using CCS 8.0.0.00016

I apologize for the delayed reply, this thread somehow got missed.

The output should be printed to the CIO console automatically when the program is run. Does nothing get printed when you run the code? What did you set the heap size to? Could you try increasing it even more to see if that helps?

try an fflush() right after printf()

I can't even choose the CIO console. That is the root of the issue, and you guys seem to be missing that.

It should just open automagically when it detects output. There is no way to "choose" it. I just tried it and it works fine.

Did you include stdio.h?

Can you provide a small program that shows the issue?

Do you see the build console?

Stephen,

As mentioned by Keith the CIO console should open automatically when there is output to print out. If your program still does not work after ensuring that have included stdio.h and set a reasonable heap size, then please attach a simple test case that demonstrates the issue so we can observe the behavior.
