Hi,

Are there any examples for setting up & configuring IrDA configurations using MSP430fr6047?

Can be set it up to work Tx & Rx using only one LED?

I found "Implementing IrDA With MSP430™ MCUs", but it didn't answered my question.

Hello,

We do not have any IrDA code examples on the MSP430FR6047.

For a dual LED configuration, you could look at the BOOST-IR design and example code. This would need to be ported to the MSP430FR6047.

For a single LED configuration, please reference the TIDA-01212, which also offers software that would need to be ported to the MSP430FR6047.

It's been a while!

Thanks for replying so fast.

Unfortunately, the example for a single LED configuration doesn't properly answer either, specifically looking at the schematics...

We don't understand how the IR_RX works, if those components and connections aren't explained.

Hi,

Sorry for the delayed response. Can you provide specific questions you have on the circuit? Section 2.1 explains the circuit and connections. There are only 4 components used, R2 and D1 for the LED circuit and R3 and C2 as a voltage divider for the reference voltage of 1.87V. Is your question on the non populated components use?

Exactly, is on the non populated components use, the rest it's explained very well on that project.

These non populated components are used as placeholders if filtering needed to be applied. In the TIDA-01212, there has not been any research on different filters as it was not deemed necessary. In your application, if the environment requires filtering of some noise, these could be used, but this would be dependent on the use case and environment.
