Hi Nomikos,

That image you posted shows an average of 109 uA of current consumption. That is very high. The expected current consumption for each ultrasonic measurement is around 3 uA and the LPM3 mode between measurements is around 1 uA. So for 1 measurement rate each second, the average current consumption should be < 4 uA. The average current consumption you get depends on the # of measurements each second in your application.

Section 3.3.2.5 Average Power Consumption has the details. Figure 31 has the current consumption profile and the configuration used for this current is shown in Table 5. Configuration for Current Measurements.

It is not clear from the image you posted how many measurements you are conducting each second.

You can post the configuration you are using for your test and also image of the board and the connections when you do the current measurement test. That might give us some suggestion about why your measured value is that high.

Hello Srinivas,

I changed my configuration on the device as shown in Table 5. I think I see improvement but still not as low as it should. As I see I take one measurement per second.

This is my board. I have turned off all leds during operation. I am using external power supply (battery 3.6V 9Ah). Battery plugged at J33, measurement taken at J32 pin an tranduceres were connected at J8. I have also removed all headers from the board as instructed from the manual for external power supply and minimum power draw.

Is the average now 3.75 uA as shown at the top of the image or 69.8 uA as shown at the bottom of the image?

Hello,

1. Can you please provide a zoom in (a) over 1 second for 1 measurement (b) further zoom in over just the measurement portion?

2. Before checking the current consumption, have you already checked that the waveform results were all good? The ADC captures, the DToF, AbsToF & VFR data returned were all correct? In other words, have you confirmed that the application is working as expected? The TI Design document http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/tidues5 has all the necessary information.
