TM4C123GH6PM: JTAG Communication Failures

Part Number: TM4C123GH6PM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

I also have accidentally locked out a jtag pin.  I tried using the LMFlash Programmer, but it has no provision for communicating through an xds100-v3 to my custom board.  Am I out of luck?

  • Hello Pete,

CCS Uniflash should have the same feature to unlock the device as LM Flash Programmer. Please try using that and see if you can recover your device that way.
  • Ralph,

That was working great (I used the Linux version) up until I tried to to the actual unlock.  Then it complained:

Failed to load flash dll: /home/batman/ti/uniflash_4.5.0/deskdb/content/TICloudAgent/linux/ccs_base/DebugServer/bin/libFlashFTDStellaris.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I looked in that directory and it was right.  There was a libFlashStellaris.so, but not the FTD version.  I made a copy of the lib file and renamed it with the FTD in it.  It made the same complaint.

  • Hello Pete,

That is unusual. Our TM4C team doesn't support CCS UniFlash so let me flag this thread to our CCS team and see if they can comment on what is occurring. My suspicion is that running the utility on Linux is causing the issue.

In the meantime, maybe see if you can run it on a Windows machine to get moving forward?
  • Ralph,
I just tried it on windows and got basically the same result - it couldn't find a dll it needed. It seems that maybe the xds100v3 is not fully supported.

    Pete
  • Hi Pete,
Sorry for the delayed response. What was the dll that it couldn't find (on Windows)? I do see a FlashFTDStellaris.dll file in my UniFlash 4.5 Windows installation...

    Thanks
