    Wireless automation using LM3S2965 and Joystick.

    hello everyone,

    I have an automation project and I am planning to use LM3S2965 TI micro-controller, and a joystick wirelessly. For wireless interface with the LM3S2965 I am planning to use an eZ430-RF2500T wireless modules from Texas Instrument.

    The doubt I have is whether the choice of eZ430-RF2500 is suitable for joystick interface; if yes, then how can I interface the eZ430-RF2500T with a joystick? Can it be done directly?? or any other intermediate component is needed in between??

    If the eZ430-RF2500 is not suitable, then Is there any other alternative?? and how to interface it with a Joystick??

    Finally I would like to know a suitable joystick for automation....

      Re: "Planning" - those facts not too much in evidence...  So much more detail required - planning is not a simple task - tens of questions spring to mind - you give us no insight into your background, timeframe, budget etc...

      My budget is approximately of 200$, and I have got around 2 months for the submission of the completed project.

      the project is about controlling a robot with a joystick., and give some more features to the robot, such as obstacle detection, hill driving assistant, anti-theft system. My main doubt, is the way to interface the robot controller and the Joystick. Since the joystick is giving different analog outputs in all 4directions, I have a doubt  on how to connect it with the wireless module;  should I use an Analog to digital converter before sending the joystick data? and how may I transmit the the data of 4 directions in serial communication? So I hope you help me clearing some of these doubts.

      So this is a school/college project, then?

      Remember that such a project is supposed to be your own work.

      The first stage of any such project should be research to find the current "state of the art" - so start by googling to find what's out there, how others have done this, etc,...

      Dear esteemed Guru/friend:  Fear that such word misuse (even though - way too common) will drive white-lab-coated, uber-bright - emplaced @ Cambridge, MIT, Cal Tech, Abbott Labs, Baxter, et. al. - to the top of tall buildings...  You/I (as small bsns owner/operators) know that tax authorities have strict (and proper) definitions of just what constitutes, "Research."  And this "deeply-planned" - due in 2 mo. school project - ain't gonna qualify.  Suggest "Investigate" as far more appropriate.  (and instructive)

      BFD - but for the fact if I had 0.25 USD for each "garage shop" operator who was, "researching" - could haunt this/other forums even longer.  (ok to hold nose/applaud)  Some here may need to - one day - raise funds from Venture Caps., and/or Angel Investors.  (a la this reporter)  Improper use of, "Research" usually ends the pitch - on the spot - (VC's eyes roll/glaze over) and "best widget ever" destined instead to "garage-curiosity" stock-pile...  (just sayin'...)
