Hi there,
TI has always promoted the various RTOS solutions for the Stellaris devices. (Safertos, open rtos, etc) However, I am getting conflicting information that SAFERTOS is not represented for the LM4F family. Please advise. If not, What are the alternatives?
Thanks so much!
Amy
Amy,
Let me get back to you on this one.
Any RTOS that was supported by the Cortex-M3 can run on the M4 without modification. The difference between the M3 and the M4 support, is that not all the RTOS supported by the M3 will support the floating point feature.
Here are a few of the supported RTOS :
Here is a list including most of the existing RTOS: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_real-time_operating_systems
Is SafeRTOS the RTOS that the customer is interested in using or is there another RTOS that is not included in either the above lists?
Let me know what you think.
Thanks Austin,
The customer was asking questions about running safeRTOS out of ROM. He seemed quite interested in a standards/safety compliant RTOS.
Any recommendations?
Thanks again!
At this time there are no plans to burn any RTOS into ROM on the Cortex-M4 devices.
The following RTOS's are recommended for saftey critical applications:
