TM4C1297NCZAD: active matrix OLED

Part Number: TM4C1297NCZAD

Hello,

I am using a AMOLED and would like to use the LCD controller found in the TM4C129. My past experience with displays is to bit bang the interface together using I/O pins. No experience with a LCD controller.

The display uses a raydium chip part# is RM67160. It has a data lane and a clock lane.

Specifically I wonder if there are any TI docs that further explain the programming of the LCD controller to deal with such a display. Also looking for opinions on designing my prototype straight off or to get the IOT development board and put my display in place of the one that comes with the board. It looks like this is the only DK available that has the TM4C129 device on it.

Thanks

Pat

  • Is the MIPI interface supported on any of TI's micros?
  • Possibly - but surely "not" those here.       Your use of "Support Forums" (atop the forum page) should reveal alternate devices from this vendor.

Another ARM MCU vendor has long supported "MIPI" and includes a hardware based Graphic Accelerator.      (and far faster system clock speed)

  • STM32F ? May be heading that direction. I dont have any flex in the display choice. I need a micro that will work with it. Too bad TI doesnt have support. like the TIVA
  • You Sir are (both) a "knowledgeable" gentleman and a scholar.     (indeed "that MCU" & one "newer" from another)      Yet - you "cull yourself FAR from the herd" w/that display -  while noting  "zero flex!"

Are you sure such "zero flex" is not "self-imposed?"       Few clients would be so aware of their superb contrast & (near) 170° viewing angle - suggesting "self-imposition."        (never/ever do posters justify their (unusual) choices...)       Such displays are the "hallmark" of best/brightest cell-phones - and demand "high-power" processing...

If you "Enable Conversations" (an option when you "signed into this forum") we may exchange via "PM" - and not awaken forum cop brigade.     (as one past IN the display biz - I may prove of some use...)
