recommendation for a series of microcontroller

I am starting a project to use a Cortex M4 microcontroller and a ~ 2.4 " TFT display and was hoping to get some help getting started.

Would you have a recommendation for a series of microcontroller to use, and is there a good software to use for developing a GUI which is more sophisticated than GRLIB.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

As you seek to "bypass" vendor's GRLIB - should you contact me via PM (here via forum) - it is likely that firm/I can (well) advise.
Graphic Accelerator, 180MHz, modern Display Interface ... all lurk ... and are (properly) revealed ... "privately."

pretty much any m4 can interface with a 2.4" tft -> satisfying all the conditions you laid out.

a more thoughtful question might involve the kind of peripherals and software intended to be used. QSPI is fairly common and emWin might be helpful in such cases.

We don't have any other software offerings that are superior to GRLIB however.

As far as M4 goes, our TM4C portfolio is all TI has to offer.

The TM4C129X has unique value if the screen requires 12 bit parallel RGB interface. However, if the controller is built into the screen, a serial interface is all they need as you said.

OP should give a part number.

While the o.p. has identified a reasonably basic, 2.4" TFT - should the design recommendations, "FREEZE" there?

Is it not preferable to, "Design in such manner that, "Bigger - Better" is WELCOMED/ENCOURAGED" - and much of the "Basic Design" may be Re-Used? Can use of the TM4C - in such (broader) light - be at all "strategic?"
