DRV8812: About 1-Mohm resister with VCP-pin

Part Number: DRV8812

Hello Team,

Could you let me know the root cause why DR8812 may enter high side slow decay without 1Mohm resister at VCP?

If DECAY set to high as fast decay mode, 1Mohm doesn’t have any effect to decay mode. Is it correct?

Best Regards,

Hirokazu Takahashi

  • Hi Takahashi-san,

As the device enters sleep mode or powers down, the gate of the high side FETs are enabled until VCP equals VM. This creates a slow decay (brake) condition.

Adding the resistor has no effect in normal operation.
