5000W Dc to Dc Boost converter

Hi,

I am trying to build a Dc -Dc boost converter, which can power a 1000w Bldc motor. Motor requires constant current of 20 amps, 48 volts on full load.

Is it possible to create a high wattage boost converter to power a 48v Bldc motor with 24 volts battery ?

Hello Shailesh,
It seems that you have two issues:
(1) how to create a 48V, 20A output from a 28V input
(2) how to drive a BLDC motor with this output.

I can help you with the first point and my suggestion is that you download the Powerstage Designer tool located here:

www.ti.com/.../powerstage-designer

You should input your design requirements and the tool will help you design the power stage for your system.

Hello Shailesh,
No. You cannot connect a BLDC motor directly to a DC source and expect it to operate successfully.

Hello John,
Hope you are doing good.

Sorry for late reply, i forgot to mention one thing . I am not connecting Dc motor directly to power source.
Let me explain you.

My plan is to use a 1000w Bldc motor, which is controlled by a DC motor Controller. As you know controller controls motors using PWM signal and there is a hall effect sensor in motor as well. Motor controller requires 48 volts dc, 20 Amps max current.

My question to you is ?
Is it possible to build a DC to DC boost converter, to power this system with 24 volts, so that we can save battery cost.
