Hi TI Experts,

I have customer that currently using DRV8701.

But they are also searching for higher Gate pin source current specification and also higher input voltage.

Please do provide the roadmap for reference.

What level of Gate pin source current and input voltage does your customer desire?

Hi Rick,

The preferable Gate pin source current is ~500mA.

The input voltage is ~60V.

The input voltage is not a main concern, but the Gate pin source current is.

Hi Teach Me,

One recommendation is the DRV8353 and DRV8350 ICs. Both meet the functional requirements you have established.

Hi Hector,

For DRV8701, it is Brushed DC motor driver.

However, for DRV8353 and DRV8350, it is brushless DC motor driver.

Can DRV8353 and DRV8350 used for Brushed DC motor driver? As currently i need to use the BDC driver.

Please advice.

Hi Teach Me,

Will the customer use H-bridge or half-bridge(s)?

Will the control interface they plan to use PH/EN, PWM, or can it be either of them?

As a clarification: you can utilize the DRV8353 and the DRV8350 to drive a BDC motor.
