Part Number: DRV8801A-Q1

Hi Team,

With the DRV8801A-Q1 in automotive applications is there any protection devices we recommend when using off battery?

Big electrolytic? TVS?

Thanks,

David

  • Hi David,

Electrolytics on the VBB side to limit the voltage excursions, plus a local filter capacitor are typically used.

Sometimes TVS diodes on the outputs are also used in the case of unexpected voltage surges (like an ESD event).

Automotive applications may have additional system requirements that add more components.
