DRV8320: Driving sensorless BLDC motor without additional MCU

Part Number: DRV8320
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV10987, DRV832X

Hi,

Would like to drive a 12V 10A(max) BLDC motor at full speed. From DRV8320 datasheet, it seems it is possible to drive the motor with a PWM signal plus hall sensors (p32 Fig 19).

If making the PWM signal to 100% duty cycle, and instead of using hall sensors from the motor, feed the BEMF to INLA/INLB/INHB pins... possible to create stand-alone-no-MCU driver?

I understand chips like DRV10987 can perform the same function without additional MCUs. But the current doesn't go that high... So was looking into this solution.

Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance!

Cheers,

Sam
