DRV8301: nFAULT turns low and reports error messages immediately after power on

Could you explain your readback of register 2? The registers are 11 bits each but you mention "1001H" which is 13 bits long.

The binary content of register 2 is 0001 0000 0000 0001,display as equipment [0] according to datasheet,but I don't know what it means.

Can you share a scope capture of the SDO and SCLK together?

The SDO output word follows this format:

This means that if your readback is correct, you are actually reading register 0x02.

Check the GVDD voltage level, same happens several times to me, Gate Voltage regulator dies and Gate Under Voltage flag set which also sets the nFaults then IC will be trash. I do not know the reason, may be TI guys suggest something.
