DRV10983-Q1: How to adjust the driving torque
Part Number: DRV10983-Q1
For the brushless motor there are 3 phases and GND. Can the GND connected to the DRV10983-Q1 be the battery GND separate from the motor GND? Or does it need to be the same reference as the motor for ripple counting or ground bounce or some other reason?
Thanks for posting your question in E2E. It is always recommended and safe to tie the Battery GND and the motor GND to the device ground. STAR/WYE wound motors have a neutral terminal that is connected to the GND. If the three-phase system is imbalanced, there will be current flowing in the neutral and by connecting motor GND to the device GND, we create a path for this current to send it back to the device.
We are glad that we were able to resolve this issue, and will now proceed to close this thread.
