DRV8813: OCP

Part Number: DRV8813

Hi team,

   When use DRV8813,

  1. Short ISENA to GND, NONE OCP signal will be triggered.

  2. Connect 200m R to ISENA, limit current at 1.65A, will trigger OCP. But when change MIXED MODE to SLOW DECAY MODE, OCP will disappear.

  Question:

  1. Why different connections of ISENA will cause different OCP results? Datasheet 7.3.2.1 shows ISENA has nothing to do with OCP.

  2. Why change MIXED MODE to SLOW DECAY MODE, OCP will disappear?

  Thanks.

  • Hi Holly,

Would you please provide some additional details?

How did you determine an OCP occurred?

       Did nFAULT assert?
How did you recover from this event (toggling nRESET, toggling nSLEEP, cycling power)?

Are you using the DRV8813EVM or a custom board? If custom can you please provide the schematic?

    What is the VM voltage?

What is connected to AOUT1 and AOUT2?

What is connected to BOUT1 and BOUT2?

What are the inputs settings (xPHASE, xENBL, xI1, xI0)?
