Hi

I have a number of questions regarding on Blaze's Camera

1. Can anyone tell me what are the cameras that Blaze Tablet or Blaze mobile use?

2. Is all the camera features including Save images into variety of different format (i.e. JPEG with some range of resolution) and video into mp4 with h.264 codec?

Thank you

Regards

Yong

    Yong,

I can see that you are the originator of on-going discussion on camera interfacing in the thread http://e2e.ti.com/support/omap/f/849/t/180242.aspx. Maybe you can continue posting more questions there itself.

Regarding your questions I have copied information from the same thread:

    1)  These are the sensors used on our blaze reference design

    1. Sony IMX060 - 12MP RAW sensor

    2. Omnivision OV5650 - 5MP RAW sensor

    3. Omnivision OV5640 - 5MP smart sensor

    4. Omnivision OV14825 - 14MP RAW sensor

    2) Yes. Most of the features including JPEG capture and Video capture in different formats (like h264, MPEG4) are supported. Different resolutions are also supported. Various features like auto-focus, auto-exposure are supported as well.

Please let us know if you are looking for any specific details.

    Regards,

    Chintan

Yes, I am the originator of another thread but I think I need a different topic because I am no longer want to discuss about the Leopard Camera module.

This will not confuse reader who are interested in what I am discussing here.

So back to the reply, which camera Blaze use for the front camera? and back camera?

If I download the Blaze source code, does it run the camera out-of the box? Or do I need to do extra work to make it works?

Your question is now much clearer.

On OMAP4460 Blaze Tablet the list of supported camera is as I have mentioned previous post. You can interchange the camera modules and there is no such restriction. On blaze tablet we refer back & front camera as Camera1 & Camera2.

Yes, if you downloaded latest blaze tablet release all the sensors should be supported out-of-box. No extra work needed.

    Regards,

    Chintan

    Hi Chintan,

I need to give Camera demo to my client on Blaze Tablet. As I understand my client is not planning to change the sensor on the board for now. Could you please tell me what all camera features I can expect to work directly on Blaze tablet board ? Right now we are looking for preview, capture on default resolution, video recording on default resolution, zoom and exposure compensation and white balace, do you think all this features will work if I flash the binaries avaialble for Blaze Tablet on omapedia ?
