Dear expert,

Does OMAP4460 ABE support voice background noise cancellation and echo cancellation?

If not, please give me some advise about the solution.

    Hi,

As per the OMAP4460 TRM, the ABE supports only the following real time audio processing features namely mixing, muxing, smooth muting, volume control, sampling rate conversion and side tone equalization. It does not support the voice background noise cancellation and echo cancellation. You can access the OMAP4460 TRM at the following link for further details on ABE.

    http://www.ti.com/pdfs/wtbu/OMAP4460_ES1.x_PUBLIC_TRM_vP.zip

    ABE Addendum: http://www.ti.com/pdfs/wtbu/OMAP4430_4460_4470_PUBLIC_TRM_Addendum_ABE_HAL_vF.pdf

Could you please let me know if you are using Android for your development? May be, you can utilize the Tesla core to perform additional audio processing algorithms.

    Thanks & Best Regards,

    Venkat

    Hi Venkat,

First thank you for kind hlep.

Yes, we use Android for our development.

I learn little Tesla core. What kind of processing is Tesla core? Hardware processing with DSP in OMAP4460 ? or is it completely software processing done by Cortex-A9 Core? The pure software processing will make ARM core busy.

    Best regards,

    weills

Tesla is the DSP itself inside omap4, if you would like to integrate it to your system you may want to look at http://omappedia.org/wiki/RPMsg_Tesla

    Hi ICe,

    Thanks for your information.

Development with Tesla may require special knowledge of TI  DSP.  It is very difficult for us.

Does TI has CODEC chipset solution for background noise cancellation and echo cancellation?  For example, OMAP4460 + AIC3262.

    Hi,

I am not sure, it could be, but I can not answer for sure because I don't know all TI products, here we are more focus on OMAP4 and it's companion chips on TIs platforms.

But you can contact the sales department, the can point you to the right solution for your needs.

    Regards!

    ICe
