Hi there,

I've a Galaxy Nexus and I'm using it in India. My phone stopped working within 10 days of purchase and when I got it checked, they told me that the motherboard isn't working. Please help! I'm dumbfounded at how a phone like Galaxy Nexus with a OMAP processor can stop working within 10 days and have such a major issue!

If the galaxy nexus device is not working, then the device should be returned to place it was purchased or the manufacturer. I am not sure who told you the mother board is not working, but there are a number of components on the mother board in addition to the OMAP and so potentially there could be a number of different components that could cause it to fail. Again it should be returned to the place it was purchased from so that the device can be sent to the manufacturer to understand what the problem is.

True; the mother board has a lot of components, but the people at Samsung told me that the mother board (they used the word 'PCBA') isn't working, and I understand that those components, in totality, are supplied by OMAP. I cannot return it to the place of purchase, since I got it from Hong Kong, and I'm using it in India. The only option is to get it repaired in India, but Samsung isn't helping in that, since they say that they will have to replace the PCBA, and it isn't available in India! And, even if they did, they're saying that they'll need the permission to rewrite the IMEI number. I really don't know what to do!

Will getting in touch with the OMAP people help? Can someone give me the OMAP tech support's email id?

Texas Instruments (the manufacturer of OMAP CPU family) does deliver literally few of thousands components from GNexus motherboard. So you can aswell ask capacitors manufacturer to help you.
