Hi,

I want to interface eink screen pvi ED060XC3 using omap 3621. When I search for omap 3621 on Ti website, it says that omap 3621 is not recommended for new designs. The alternatives suggested were dm 3730 and dm3725. I want to know why omap 3621 is not recommended for new designs as only this processor has epd controller and dm 3725 and dm 3730 dont have epd controller and therefore cant be used to interface eink screen.

I also want to know whether development or evaluation kits are available for omap3621 processor.

You can refer to this guide to select your appropriate device for eink screen control - http://focus.ti.com/pdfs/wtbu/SWPT046.pdf

OMAP3621 is obsolete device, therefore there are not new SW releases and support for its.

If you are developing project with OMAP3, please select other device from OMAP3 family, for example - http://www.ti.com/product/omap3630

There is only one platform for developing with OMAP36xx, it is OMAPZoom - http://www.omapworld.com/zoom.html

The Zoom OMAP36x Mobile Development Platform (MDP) is built around TI's OMAP3630 applications processor.

However, I am not sure if this development kit is actual and can be found.
