TWL6040 HMIC and SMIC electrical specification

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TWL6040

Hi,

We are working on a new design based on OMAP4460 and TWL6040 and we have the following query on audio input architecture.

Our requirement is to connect stereo line-in (AUX-in) through HMIC and SMIC, below are the line in specifications.

Nominal input level: 200mV swing
Maximum input: 2Vp-p
Input impedance: 47KOhms

Will the pins HMIC and SMIC support the above mentioned electrical specification?

Regards,

Suhas M

  • Hello Suhas M,

The TWL6040 supports three differential microphone inputs (MMIC, HMIC, SMIC).

    HMICP - Headset microphone (+)

    HMICN - Headset microphone (–)

    SMICP - Submicrophone (+)
    SMICN - Submicrophone (–)

    The Uplink microphone channels support:

    Single-ended or differential input swing 0 dBFs (THD > 40 dB)  - 2Vpp
    Single-ended input resistance  - 240KOhms - max
    Minimal input  swing - 400mV

I think that the TWL6040's pins support your requirements as electrical specification.

You can refer to OMAP4460 Panda Board to obtain more design information http://pandaboard.org/content/resources/references

    Best regards,
